The international Sand Sculpture Festival is located at EM 524, 8365-201 Pêra, Portugal. Approximately 40 thousand tons of sand in a construction area of 15.000 m^2 are used to build sculptures that reach up to twelve meters and reproduce, in great detail, people, objects and scenarios alluding to special themes.
Being an experience at daylight already, Sand City becomes magical at night. Special lights give new forms to the sculptures, a new environment and a play of luminosity and shadows.
