Rua de Santa Maria – this is the name of a very narrow but extremely colourful street in downtown Funchal, where almost every other door has been transformed into an artwork. You will have difficulties finding an ordinary, brown, wooden door.
The projekt was started in 2010 by the photographer José Maria Zyberchem and has resulted in about 200 painted doors in Rua de Santa Maria and the surrounding streeds.
