Less than 2 hours drive from Chania is probably the most famous beach of Crete and one of the most majestic ones in Greece itself – Elafonisi Lagoon. It is said that the sand is pink, and if you look closely, you will find pink corns. However, the pinky shores combined with azure blue water creates a beautiful color composition which you will enjoy.
It is advisable to go to Elafonisi Lagoon early in the morning, firstly, because you want to enjoy the nature without other people and then you want to grab a sun umbrella and some sun beds to protect yourself against the heat.
