Tiefenbachklamm, Austria | 15.07.2020

The parking lot Tiefenbachklamm is located about 3.5 km after the Sonnwendjochbahn Kramsach directly at the entrance of the Gorge. The trail is on the right. At first you hike over Waldboden a bit directly along the Brandenberg Ache, but soon the valley narrows. The well-secured, narrow path leads most of the time over stone and gravel floor high above the raging Brandenberg Ache. Particularly impressive are the bizarre rock shapes in this gorge. After about 1.5 km you reach an observation deck. Deep below, the water has very little space left in the narrow gorge. The further path crosses the Ache three times. The bridges are particularly suitable for watching the kayakers. After about four kilometers, the valley suddenly opens and you reach a meadow. Here is also the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm.

The walking time from the beginning to the end of the Tiefenbachklamm is about 1.5 hours. Hikers either choose the same route back (recommendation) or march 40 minutes further left to the Jausenstation Stegerstall (bus stop back to the parking lot) or on the right to the church in Brandenberg (bus stop back to Kramsach).
