Dumbo, New York | 08.10.2019

Dumbo is a neighbourhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn that was formally known as Gairville. It encompasses two sections, i.e. one that is located between Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn and another that continues East from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill area.

Dumbo provides a nice “costal” area along the East River with newly built or renovated buildings, trendy new shops and a stunning view of Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan skyline and even the Statue of Liberty in the distance.

It is also the location of one of the best photographic spots in New York, which is located at Washington Street/Corner Front Street  (40°42’8.6458’’ N 73°59’22,6832’’ W). You will have a brilliant view of Manhattan Bridge and through one of the pillars of the bridge you can see the Empire State Building in the background. However, I advise you to go early in the morning, otherwise your view will be obstructed by tons of people taking pictures.
